The Phoenix Bobcats are a nonprofit youth track and field club founded in 1982. We focus on developing athletes both on and off the field by building athletic performance, discipline, accountability, and academic success in a supportive and inclusive environment.


We offer training for athletes ages 5–18, as well as a Masters program for athletes 18+. All skill levels are welcome—from beginners to experienced competitors.


  • Spring Season: January – May 
  • Championship Season: May – July (for athletes who qualify for Regionals/Nationals) 
  • Fall Pre-Season Clinics: September – December 
  • Cross Country: August – December 

High School Options:

  • Pre-Season: September – January 
  • Winter Season Only: November – January 

Prescott Valley Satellite Club: Available post high school season only


Yes! Athletes can join at any time. While full-season participation is recommended, we welcome mid-season athletes and offer pro-rated dues.


Thunderbird High School
1750 W Thunderbird Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85023


  • Monday – Thursday: 5:30 PM – 6:45 PM 
  • Optional Fridays: On non-meet weekends 
  • Weekends: Reserved for private sessions (scheduled with coaches) 

Athletes can attend as many days as their schedule allows. We recommend at least 3 practices per week for best development.


Yes! New athletes can participate in a 1-week trial to see if the program is a good fit.


We offer a full range of track and field events, including:

  • Sprints, middle-distance, and long-distance running 
  • Relays 
  • High jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault 
  • Shot put, discus, javelin, and mini-javelin


  • Meets are held approximately every 2–3 weeks 
  • Athletes typically compete in 1–3 events per meet
  • Meet duration depends on the number of events entered, from start to finish it is typically 8 hrs but most people dont attend the entire event from start to finish

We provide schedules in advance so families can plan accordingly.


We host Thursday night meets (5:30–8:00 PM) at Thunderbird High School in partnership with Great Hearts. These are for athletes in grades 5–8.


Age groups follow USA Track & Field (USATF) guidelines:

  • Based on the age the athlete turns during the calendar year 
  • Organized into two-year divisions 
  • A birth certificate is required for verification


Yes. We are a community-based program and rely on parent support.
Parents are asked to:

  • Volunteer at meets (at least 3 times per season) 
  • Help with setup and breakdown 
  • Assist with athlete safety and event operations


Yes. All coaches are USATF Safe Sport certified, meaning they have completed background checks and training to ensure a safe, positive environment for all athletes

  2. Email a copy of your athlete’s birth certificate 
  3. Submit payment
